The chemical compositions of the essential oil of Curcuma zedoaria (Berg.) Rosc. were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and showed a high content of epicurzerenone and curdione representing 46.6% and 13.7% of the total oil, respectively.
ガジュツ（紫ウコン）（Curcuma zedoaria）のエッセンシャルオイル化学成分がガスクロマトグラフィー－質量分析されて、それぞれ、全体のオイルの中でエピクルゼレノン46.6%、クルディオン13.7%の高容量を示した。

The essential oil was evaluated for potential antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonasa aeruginosa, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Salmonella typhimurium and Bacillus cereus.
黄色ブドウ球菌、大腸菌、緑膿菌、腸炎ビブリオ、ネズミチフス菌およびセレウス菌に対するエセンシャルオイルの抗菌作用の可能性が評価された。

V. parahaemolyticus was sensitive to the presence of the essential oil, while the most resistant strain appeared to be E. coli.
腸炎ビブリオはエセンシャルオイルの存在に感受性があった。一方、最大の耐性株は大腸菌であるように思われた。

Based on 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2, 5-diphenyl-tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay, nitroblue tetrazolium (NBT) reduction and cell morphology, the essential oil of C. zedoaria could inhibit the proliferation of human promyelocytic leukemia HL-60 cells.
3-(4,5-Dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium（細胞増殖／細胞毒性測定用試薬―細胞増殖）アッセイキット、nitroblue tetrazolium (NBT) reduction（好中球の殺菌能力試験）および細胞形態学に基づき、ガジュツ（紫ウコン）精油はヒトの骨髄球性白血病HL-60細胞増殖を阻害することが出来るかもしれない。

These results suggest that the essential oil has the antimicrobial activity against some of Gram- positive and negative pathogenic microorganisms and the components of the extract lead to the apoptosis of human cancer cell line.
この研究結果は、精油が一部のグラム陽性およびグラム陰性の病原性微生物に対して 抗真菌作用があって、抽出物の成分がヒトがん細胞株のアポトーシスの原因となる。

考えたこと
紫ウコン精油の作用に関して調べていたら上記の文献に出会いました。紫ウコンの粉末、錠剤のサプリメントは沢山販売しております。その宣伝文によると、シネオールなシネオール・カンファー・アズレンをはじめとした精油成分が豊富に含まれ、シネオール・アズレンの2つの精油成分にダイエット作用があると言われています。
ところが根茎を粉末にした資料は多いですが根茎を水蒸気蒸留した精油の資料になると皆無に近いです。フィトアロマ研究所ではネパールからオイルを直輸入しましたが使用方法、データがあまりなくてお客様に紹介できない状態です。製造元からの資料もほとんどないです。
しかし、粉末や錠剤で沢山販売されているのは効果があるから販売されているのだと思います。現在、アロマセラピストの方にトリートメントで使用していただいてもらっています。予測ですがアロマセラピー トリートメントに使用していただければ何らかの効果が期待できると思います。オイルが存在していますので、また新しい文献が出てくると思います。そのときにまた紹介したいと思います。
