First, "Spirit of Place," is only a label. If we call them "energy" it's just the same.

It is recognized in Bon, and Native American teachings, that there is an intelligent, conscious energy which lives in certain areas in nature, for a very long time.

For example there is a spirit of place living in the Western Valley of Mount Kailas who is called, "The Bull."

When I was in Tibet, I was initiated into Bon Shamanism, and told of a powerful, "spirit of place," which I would soon meet.

The shaman told me how it would appear, and for me to say, "I honor you, I recognize you, I appreciate you, and I see you."

The shaman also told me that the spirit would try to touch me, and there would be an effect, like sickness, if I was stuck in ego, and great laughter if I was in presence.

Soon after, I met the spirit, and everything the shaman told me, happened as he said it would. It's a great story.

Since then, I have worked with many of these beings, some very big and powerful, some small and gentle.

They are very real, and ALL of them are full of love and respect for people. They want to help people, and love to play with us.

The Dragon is the most powerful of these beings, and they almost always live on or in Sacred Mountains.
