Abstract

要旨

Between 2000 and 2050, the number of new cancer patients diagnosed annually is expected to double, with an accompanying increase in treatment costs of more than $80 billion over just the next decade.

2000年から2050年の間に、毎年新たながん患者と診断される数は、今後10年以上だけで80億以上の治療費の増大を伴って、倍増すると予想されています。

Efficacious strategies for cancer prevention will therefore be vital for improving patients' quality of life and reducing healthcare costs. Judah Folkman first proposed antiangiogenesis as a strategy for preventing dormant microtumors from progressing to invasive cancer.

がん予防のための有効な戦略は、したがって、患者の生活の質を改善し、医療費を削減するために不可欠です。ユダフォークマンは、最初に、進行から浸潤がんになる休眠微小腫瘍を予防するための戦略として抗血管新生を提案した。

Although antiangiogenic drugs are now available for many advancedmalignancies (colorectal, lung, breast, kidney, liver, brain, thyroid, neuroendocrine, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndrome), cost and toxicity considerations preclude their broad use for cancer prevention.

血管新生阻害剤は、現在、多くの進行性固形がん（大腸、肺、乳、肝臓、脳、甲状腺、神経内分泌、多発性骨髄腫、骨髄異形成症候群）に対して利用可能であるけれど、費用および毒性のことを考えるとがん予防ためにそれらを幅広く使用することを不可能にします。

Potent antiangiogenic molecules have now been identified in dietary sources, suggesting that a rationally designed antiangiogenic diet could provide a safe, widely available, and novel strategy for preventing cancer.

強力な血管新生阻害分子が、今日、食物源に確認されていて、合理的にデザインされた血管新生阻害の食事ががん予防のための安全、広範囲に利用可能で、新たな戦略を提供出来るだろうことを示唆した。

成体における病的な血管新生のうち，最も重要なもののひとつに腫瘍血管新生（Tumor angiogenesis）があります．がん細胞は自らの増殖に必要な酸素・栄養の供給を得るために血管新生因子を放出し，血管新生を盛んに誘導します．このようにして新たに形成された腫瘍血管はがんの進展や転移に非常に重要です．
